Transcriptomic Down-Regulation of Immune System Components in Barrier and Hematopoietic Tissues after Lipopolysaccharide Injection in Antarctic Notothenia coriiceps

چکیده
The environmental conditions and isolation in the Antarctic have driven evolution of a unique biodiversity at macro to microorganism scale. Here, we investigated possible adaptation teleost Nototheniacoriiceps immune system cold environment microbial community Southern Ocean. fish was stimulated through an intraperitoneal injection lipopolysaccharide (LPS 0111:B4 from E. coli) tissue transcriptomic response plasma biochemistry were analyzed 7 days later compared sham injected control. Gene transcription head-kidney, intestine skin significantly modified by LPS, although tissues showed different responsiveness, with duodenum most least modified. processes related cell metabolism (up-regulated) (comprising 30% differentially expressed genes). identified mostly down-regulated, particularly interleukins pattern recognition receptors (PRRs), nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like mannose receptors, unlike toll-like commonly described other fish. transcriptional not mirrored systemic response, as circulating levels enzymes innate immunity, lysozyme antiproteases, untreated control In conclusion, while N.coriiceps shares many features teleosts there are also some specificities. Further studies should better characterize PRRs their role teleosts, well importance LPS source its consequences for activation teleosts.

Cold Fusion: Massive Karyotype Evolution in the Antarctic Bullhead Notothen Notothenia coriiceps
Half of all vertebrate species share a series of chromosome fusions that preceded the teleost genome duplication (TGD), but we do not understand the causative evolutionary mechanisms. The "Robertsonian-translocation hypothesis" suggests a regular fusion of each ancestral acro- or telocentric chromosome to just one other by centromere fusions, thus halving the karyotype. An alternative "genome-s...
متن کاملCharacterization of Two Antimicrobial Peptides from Antarctic Fishes (Notothenia coriiceps and Parachaenichthys charcoti)
We identified two antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) with similarity to moronecidin in Antarctic fishes. The characteristics of both AMPs were determined using moronecidin as a control. Moronecidin, which was first isolated from hybrid striped bass, is highly salt-resistant, and possesses broad-spectrum activity against various microbes. The moronecidin-like peptide from Notothenia coriiceps exhibit...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
